Rainmaker Tip: Start an on-campus recycling initiative.

Most campuses have implemented recycling programs. However, any true Rainmaker can pinpoint several ways to make their current programs more efficient!

  • Contact Facilities Management at your local university to request a recycling bin next to every trash can on campus.
  • Bring your own mug every morning for coffee and ask for a discount. If there isn’t a discount in place, talk to Dining Services about arranging one.
  • Is the dining hall still using Styrofoam plates? Make formal, written requests to the University to replace Styrofoam with recyclable paper or plastic plates.

What is the Rainmaker Network?

addthis

The Rainmaker Network is a group of eco-conscious university students and progressive employers that interact in an organic way to connect for career and internship opportunities. Unlike any other service, this Network is an exclusive Membership of companies and students intent on fulfilling their career goals in an eco-friendly way.

We offer this service exclusively to companies and organizations that have a proven record of eco-aware product development and employee satisfaction. It is a unique resource for them as it presents great talent in a comprehensive manner free of charge.

For the student, a Rainmaker Membership is an investment in their future with a variety of benefits...

First, a Rainmaker Profile is far superior to a simple resume. It allows a Member to show potential employers their talents and skills in a professional way that promises to make a good first impression. Member Profiles include the presentation of a traditional resume, reference sheet, extracurricular activities, portfolio of works and an introductory video professionally produced by The Rainmaker Network film production team.

These features are linked in an organic format to a personalized Member URL that may be forwarded to prospective employers via email, text, or direct connect chats.

Second, a Rainmaker Membership shows commitment to a responsible pursuit of a great career with a progressive employer in an eco-friendly way. With no printed materials, no envelopes, and significantly lowered carbon footprints, our Members are doing their part in making the hiring process a much more eco-conscious experience.

Finally, a Rainmaker Membership makes financial sense. The nine dollar monthly fee for a Membership is less than the cost of one movie ticket or printing and sending out one resume, cover letter and reference sheet : a small investment to gain an edge on landing a great career.

Benefits for University Students

A Rainmaker Membership provides a student with some significant advantages in their search for a career or internship. First, we present our Rainmakers in a cutting edge format that includes their resume, references, work portfolio, extracurricular activities, and a professionally produced introductory video. We then post these comprehensive profiles on The Rainmaker Network for our participating employers to review free of charge. This encourages them to explore our Network for talent before paying other services for less comprehensive information. Finally, by limiting our Membership to a select few, we significantly increase the opportunity for our Rainmakers to get a first look and subsequent chance at landing a job or internship.

In addition to these benefits, The Rainmaker Network continually strives to ensure great service and quality Member Profiles by:

  • Providing well designed professional templates for our Rainmaker Members to utilize in the preparation of their resumes, reference sheets, and works portfolios.
  • Reviewing Member Profiles on a regular schedule to provide editing checks and formatting suggestions without encroaching upon stylistic choices.
  • Professionally producing all Rainmaker Member Introductory Videos to ensure consistent quality of sound, lighting, camera work, and editing.

Finally, The Rainmaker Network offers the services of EcoChat ™ powered by Twitter © and EcoView ™ powered by SKYPE ™. With these valuable tools, our Membership can text or video conference with interested employers directly through The Network and make their first connections in a personal and eco-conscious way!
