I attended the LA fashion market with eco-friendly VISIONARY boutique owner Magda Rod on friday and was excited to see all the eco-friendly products offered. The event is all weekend and is a sea of apparel, jewelry, accessories, outerwear, lingere, shoes, and house products. If you can buy it in a store, it was there! As a fashion design major in college I was so overwhelmed by all the wonderful designs, great fabrics and up and coming designers that were at market, but most of the companies I am familiar with aren't eco friendly at all!!!
Magda has such a passion for beautiful eco-friendly pieces it was so great to get a tour of market with her because she knows so many fabulous eco- designers. You guys should totally check out some of these websites because the clothes are so cool, I NEVER would have guessed they were eco-friendly, it;s just a great perk! looking super chic while not having a bad impact on the environment? Shopping has never been so great!
Some of my favs were:
EDUN - http://www.edunonline.com/
Prairie Underground - http://www.prairieunderground.com/
Kim White - http://www.kimwhitehandbags.com/
Angel Court - http://www.angelcourt.com/
Being able to look at all the different eco friendly fashions was inspiring to me as a young designer that there is hope for creating more companies that don't have a negative effect on the environment. The designers are excited about using and exploring new fibers and most have factories in downtown LA which is awesome to keep those jobs in the US so now your clothes don't have to travel the world to get to you!

Now that I'm in the market for some new duds, I'll keep your finds in mind. I think being eco-conscious is not about revamping everything that you have but doing what you can with the resources you've got.
Thanks for all of your tips!
